Running the Family Rauen wine estate is done collectively by Harald and Maria Rauen and now also of son Matthias. Maria Rauen studied home economics and handles sales and administration.

Harald Rauen studied wine-growing and cellar management. In 1983 he took over the family wine estate from his father, Eduard. He passed out as master wine-grower in 1985, and in 1993 passed out as cellar master.

Their son, Matthias Rauen, was born in 1989, inherited the love of nature and the landscape from his forefathers, and wants to continue the traditions of the estate. He trained as a wine-grower in well-known VDP estates, successfully passing out in 2009.

A sound education and years of experience laid the foundations for producing the best of wines. In the Rauen family, wine-related further education is taken seriously: regular trips to foreign wine-growing countries, attending seminars and keeping up with trade literature are part what they do in order to remain abreast of the times.
Harald and Matthias has a clear company philosophy: "I attach great importance to natural wine-growing! Only out of ecologically sound vineyards is it possible to harvest wines with clear-cut aromas of fruit and complex flavours that reflect the soil quality of the steep slopes.“
